We had the luxury of just eight players on the stage this week, allowing us all space to be heard. Our first piece was about 25 minutes long, but I knocked a knob on the mixer and fed Alberto's guitar directly into one of the recording channels, screwing the levels up, so I've omitted about five sixths of it from this release. You can hear me tweaking the levels on 'One Sixth', along with the loud guitar at the end. The rest is here to savour. Rhodri delighted us with a rendition of his job application and Ramon sang about the love between him and his inherited cat, but it's the expanse of 'Kon-Tiki' that is my fave, instigated by that naughty Rhodri, who triggered a modulating chord on his synth, then buggered off to chat to Marcus, leaving the rest of us to work with it, the two of them eventually joining us on stage to round it off nicely in little over 24 minutes! Classic cube orchestra. The ending is hilarious ...
